SHOTS FIRED | Jake Paul Goes Goes Off On Jorge Masvidal And Masvidal Claps Back

Jake Paul vs. Tyron Woodley fight: Five biggest storylines to watch from an interesting card in Cleveland - CBSSports.com

Jake Paul is not surprised Jorge Masvidal has turned his back on him ahead of Sunday’s boxing match with Tyron Woodley. Ahead of the anticipated Showtime pay-per-view headliner this weekend at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Masvidal went on the record and predicted his friend and former training partner Woodley to score a knockout win over the YouTuber, Paul.

That did not come as a shock to Paul, he said, despite the fact Masvidal has tried to be friendly with him in the past. “I wasn’t surprised by Masvidal,” Paul told reporters, including MMA Junkie, at Wednesday’s open workouts. “He has the same manager as Woodley and the guy’s kind of an airhead. Let’s be honest. Masvidal’s not smart. Does anyone here listen to a Masvidal interview and go, ‘Oh wow, that guy’s intellectual. He’s a smart guy. The way he talks, he’s very well-spoken.’

“He’s a street fighter gangster who got knocked the f*ck out in his last fight, so maybe he’s losing a couple brain cells.” Paul continued that he thinks Masvidal has the character traits to do such a thing. He’s aware that “Gamebred” has a much longer history with Woodley, but sees it as a flaw that he’s tried to work both sides when it’s convenient to him.

“If you want to switch up – at one moment he’s my friend – he’s saying, ‘Let’s train, let’s do a video together. You come to my bakery down the street I want to do a thing with you,” Paul said. “Then, oh, snap, all of a sudden he wants to switch up. That’s now how I was raised. Not here in Ohio. If you want me to be your friend, I’m your friend. If he wants to switch up, hoes will be hoes.”

Could this change in position ultimately lead to a fight between Paul and Masvidal? The budding star didn’t rule it out. Paul has a big list of potential foes lined up if he can get past Woodley this weekend, and Masvidal has seemingly added his name to the list.  “I would love to fight Masvidal,” Paul said. “I think it could very much so happen.”
